Regression Questions

Ok, so how do YOU regress??

I don't really see or hear this talked about much, yet it seems pretty key to most of the processes.

Any help would be appreciated.

1. Is it generally the same process/ method for everyone?

2. Any tips about how to regress? And tips about how NOT to regress?

3. How long does it take you to get a first true image?  Immediately, seconds, minute, minutes?

4. Do you seem to imagine it?  Do you see it on your eyelids, like on a screen?  Does it change in your process—like does it start out imagining, it's fuzzy, then it adjusts/ reality gets clearer?

5. Can you zoom in/ out?

6. Is it 3D, or is it what might be called imaginative 2D?

7. Colorful, or limited to a few colors?

8. How do you know you have actually regressed and seeing reality/truth, not “making it up”?

9. Do you have some kind of (sudden) change in your emotions, body, or mind?

10. Do you have a process you go through (step 1, step 2, etc.) that seems to bring the best results? Or, do you just think about it and it just happens?

11. Do you get different experiences, or is it usually the same? (Sometimes it’s very limited in color, sometimes lots of color; sometimes it’s easy to imagine up, other times it takes work; etc.)

12. Do images change/ mutate without thought/ trying/ intent?

13. How do you keep the image(s) constant (if they should be)?

Thanks,
David

P.S.  I numbered the questions just because I know it's easier and preferred for some; others like to answer a few questions at once, or post experiences, or maybe something shorter--anything you write, it's okay. :)

I recommend you to read the book about "The Whole-Hearted Healing Workbook" by Paula Courteau (https://www.amazon.com/Whole-Hearted-Healing-Workbook-Paula-Courteau/dp/0973468033/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=paula+courteau&qid=1561355627&s=gateway&sr=8-1).

Because that's the technique of regression created by the Institute and used by therapists and the research team.
All of what you need to know and to do tp regress, is in the book, step by step.
With some commentary from Grant in some part of the book.
It depend on your own experiences with healing methods, but generally for your first regression, it's recommended to do it with someone experienced with it.

    1. Is it generally the same process/ method for everyone?

    Yes.

    2. Any tips about how to regress? And tips about how NOT to regress?

    read the book.

    3. How long does it take you to get a first true image?  Immediately, seconds, minute, minutes?

a few minutes, some people don't see images, and just feel around and that they are in an event.

    4. Do you seem to imagine it?  Do you see it on your eyelids, like on a screen?  Does it change in your process—like does it start out imagining, it's fuzzy, then it adjusts/ reality gets clearer?

It depends on people, but it's like seing with your eyes open for some, for others it's like mental images, etc.

Usually it's immediately clear, in my experience and the people I talked too.

    5. Can you zoom in/ out?
I would say yes. But maybe I'm wrong and it's an ability that's some people have?

    6. Is it 3D, or is it what might be called imaginative 2D?
3D, but once again depends on the way your inner vision work/your perceive things.

    7. Colorful, or limited to a few colors?

    Colorful.

    8. How do you know you have actually regressed and seeing reality/truth, not “making it up”?

Because it will feel very different of your imagination, and very organic/you will know that's true. Also sometimes people have an overlay image above the real scene of the event (see the book to understand better). And also is you heal traumas and injuries in the event and that it's healing your issue that made you regress in the forst place: then it doesn't matter if you imagined it or not.

Experience it yourself and all your answer should be answered this way (and by reading the book of course).

    9. Do you have some kind of (sudden) change in your emotions, body, or mind?

    Once accepted, and healed, yes.

    10. Do you have a process you go through (step 1, step 2, etc.) that seems to bring the best results? Or, do you just think about it and it just happens?

Yes, WHH (Whole-Hearted Healing). It's explained in the book listed above.

    11. Do you get different experiences, or is it usually the same? (Sometimes it’s very limited in color, sometimes lots of color; sometimes it’s easy to imagine up, other times it takes work; etc.)

    12. Do images change/ mutate without thought/ trying/ intent?
Yes, once you heal the past, it change.

    13. How do you keep the image(s) constant (if they should be)?
You don't need to do anything, just experience fully the event.
It's just the willingness to experience the event that will make you stay there and heal it for example.

Julien, thanks!  I have that and four other books, but it was still very unclear to me.  It's such an integral part of the method, but I didn't recall much discussion about it anywhere, and feel pretty lost.  Your answers already give me a better understanding.

I got on a bike, my mom pushed me down a grassy incline, and I could ride.  On the other hand, my daughter needed a whole lot of laid-out instruction (and reminders)--how to pedal (and when), what to do when the bike started turning one way (and would crash in a few seconds),  how to use the handlebars, how far to turn, where to look (ahead, not at the ground right in front of her), etc.
Some people pick up a club, swing, and hit the ball right where they want it to be; others need a list of mechanics, with a spotter giving feedback and pointers.
(Or like reading all about how van Gogh painted, his colors, strokes, build-up, etc.--then actually seeing a painting up close and realizing he painted on brown, and how that changed things--though I had never read anything about that.)
It seems like with regression, I'm not a natural...

I tried regression with the WHH instructions, but never felt or saw anything; I never got past actual experiences I could remember in the present.
I was then coached through it (regression), but it seemed like my ability was very limited and maybe not usual.  Without telling me what to look for, I wonder if I would have ever seen anything.  It seemed like images were changing (without any healing), and I didn't know if it was because I was imagining it all or it was getting closer to reality.  I didn't really feel (body) much for a long time, so wasn't so sure what was going on, etc.  It seemed to work best if I'd follow along with the suggestions, until I hit a snag trying to see what I was told to see.  It was kind of like trying to tell the difference between a drug working vs. a placebo.
I was also wondering if maybe regression or parts/ abilities in regression were peak states that most had, but maybe a few didn't.  I later learned my ability actually was inhibited (other thread), but the two main reasons (calcified pituitary gland and candida infection) are improving, so along with understanding better, hoped it might help.

After reading the book Matrix Energetics, I was not much closer to understanding how to do that method, even after diligent trying, so I asked on a discussion board about how to really do it.  The comments and insights and the relating of extra explanations and instructions from instructors as the participants were trying to do it, finally brought a few a-ha moments that opened it up--so much clearer and easier to understand beyond reading the book.  I was hoping lots of feedback would do the same for this topic--paint a much broader and clearer picture--not just for me, but for everyone teaching and learning.
  • Hello David,
Well regression is also a matter of training yourself and with more practice it gets easier. Also, it is not uncommon to have blockages to going pre-birth, or seeing in general, or trusting your perceptions.
I remember in the beginning, I didn't trust my own perceptions at all ! I thought "this is just something I'm making up". However, the process worked anyway, and the 'intuitive answers' I was getting from exploring these perceptions were quite spot on. So I decided to trust, and then it became more natural.

Actually, regression is pretty simple :
    1) Start from a trauma (you have a negative emotion in the present) or a bad memorie.
    2) Be in your body and accept the sensation
    3) Decide to follow the sensation back in the past to the first time you ever felt it, even if you don't recall it consciously. In fact, in the vast majority, you would not recall the event consciously.
So people like to imagine they "slide back" through time.
The key here is to feel the sensation and to look for an ancient time where the same sensation was there. The context or rationale of the events can be completely foreign.
    4) Go into your body again, as most trauma make people dissociate.
    5) Regress further back in the past.
    6) Do it again until there is really no possibility to go further back in the past.

    Simple, eh ?

    About "seeing" things :

Trying to "see" things actually doesn't work great. Because you are not using the same kind of memory people generally use. Rather, you are using cellular memory from pre-verbal, pre-visual times (before you even have eyes) !
Thus, the primary sense to use is the kinesthetic sense : feeling.
The visuals from pre-birth regression are merely a visual translation from kinesthetic feelings.
As the pre-birth organism can actually sense what's around him, you can translate it into visuals, however it is very different from "looking" or "picturing" something. It is rather coming from an intrinsic knowledge of what's going on.

Of course, the suffering from the trauma almost always distort the perceptions of what's going on. So focus on the feeling, and things might get clearer as you start healing the event.

    Does that help ?
  • Yes, even clearer, and a few more things to consider working on.  Thank you!
