How can we help our unborn child?

We frequently get questions from parents asking how they might improve the life of their unborn child. Interestingly there is one very simple thing they can do that that profoundly improves the lives of about 4 out of 5 children who use it.

It turns out that modern birth practices unknowingly cause a severe PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder) that sets the child up for suicidal tendencies and depression later on in life, as well as blocking the very important peak state of 'wholeness'.

The problem is simple: the baby's umbilical cord is cut far too soon, before all the blood in the placenta has returned to the baby. The fix is equally simple: delay cord cutting for somewhere between 20 and 30 minutes after birth. This gives all the biological systems time to stabilize in the newborn.

Mary Ceallaigh has a very good website covering the issues around cutting the umbilical cord too soon: http://lotusfertility.com. She writes: "The main books I'd recommend to your friend is "Gentle Birth, Gentle Mothering" by Sarah Buckley MD, (who had several lotus births herself, and incorporates lotus birth/umbilical integrity facts in the book). Also, of course, "Lotus Birth" by Rachana Shivam - pricey, as it ships from Australia."
